LUCENA CITY — An earthquake of magnitude 3.9 was recorded early Monday in Rodriguez town in Rizal province.

The Philippine Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the tectonic tremor hit 18 kilometers northeast of the municipality, with a depth of 20 km, at 1:20 a.m.

The Phivolcs said they were not expecting damage or aftershocks from the earthquake.

Intensities were felt and reported in the following areas:

Intensity II – Quezon City; City of Marikina

Instrumental Intensity:

Intensity II – Quezon City; Caloocan City; Antipolo City, Riza; General Nakar, Quezon

Intensity I – Angono, Rizal; Marilao, Bulacan; Las Piñas City, Metro Manila

Felt intensity is the ground shaking felt and reported by the people through the Phivolcs Earthquake Intensity Scale, while instrumental Intensity is indicated by the ground shaking measured by the intensity meters in and around the epicentral area. INQ
